My Staccato Warranty Return

On week one of owning a Staccato, I’ve gotten to find out how their warranty process works. I’ve previously posted about the the problem at length, so this is a simple update on what is happening midway through the process.

I had an issue mounting an optic adapter plate to the slide where the right-hand mounting screw wouldn’t thread into the slide. I tried multiple screws that came with the C&H Adapter plate, and none of them would thread, so I suspect it is the slide itself.

I’m sure the slide screw hole was tapped incorrectly, which has prevented me from threading any of the included mounting screws in. Multiple screws which worked in the left side failed to work in the right side, so I decided to send it back for warranty work.

Staccato sent me a 2nd Day Air shipping label with the disclaimer that if they found no problem with the slide, I would be responsible to pay shipping. I was confident the issue does lie with the firearm, so I was comfortable with that arrangement. They instructed me to only ship the slide back to them so there was no need to coordinate with an FFL, which should help keep the process timely.

I’m not sure yet what sort of updates I’ll get from the company, so I will keep track of how long it takes them to inspect and repair it by keeping an eye on tracking numbers.

So far my experience with the customer service at Staccato has been very good, and I’m really hoping that will continue. Hopefully it doesn’t take them too long to get it back to me; I would very much like to be able to get back to using it.

Is Owning a Staccato Going to be Eventful?

The first days of my Staccato ownership journey have unfortunately not been uneventful. I bought a new Model P and was very excited to put it through its paces to see if it lived up to its reputation
